Winners of the 2018 Recruiting Class

4/23/2018

The college basketball landscape is powered by powerhouses like Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina. But you'll get those squads that come out of nowhere and nail their recruiting class. The winners of this year's class feature a little bit of both. Here's who stole the recruiting class this year.
  • Duke: Nabbing arguably three of the best high school players in the country (which includes Zion Williamson) is a big deal for Mike Krzyzewski. Many recruiting experts have pegged Duke as the No. 1 school in the basketball class of 2018. The Blue Devils even went the extra mile in nabbing five-star point guard Tre Jones of Apple Valley, Minnesota.
  • Oregon: You'd think that picking up Bol Bol would be the only five-star recruit that Oregon would obtain. That's not the case as they also nabbed five-star power forward Louis King of Columbus, New Jersey. Also adding point guard Will Richardson and power forward Miles Norris gave the Ducks a lethal recruiting class this year.
  • Vanderbilt: In a conference usually dominated by John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats, the Commodores stepped up nicely this year. They picked up five-star point guard Darius Garland of Brentwood, Tennessee and five-star power forward Simisola Shittu of Ontario. The Commodores are also one of three schools in the running for five-star shooting guard Romeo Langford's services (Indiana and Kansas being the other two).
  • UCLA: The Bruins used to be a BIG basketball powerhouse back in the 1960's and 1970's. John Wooden led UCLA to countless titles during his tenure. The Bruins appear to heading back towards that type of prominence as they picked up five-star center Miles Brown of Briarwood, New York. They also picked up Shaquille O' Neal's son, Shareef, and are in the running for McDonald's All-American center Jordan Brown.
