Everton has never had the best of luck. Being mired in either the middle, outside looking in, or near the bottom of the Premier League, the Black Watch has not had any luck getting near the Champion's League. Everton has not qualified for the Champion's League since 2005-2006 where they reached the third qualifying round. This year looks to be different for the Blues, who are fourth in the Premier League.
Yes, it's only seven matches in. However, you can not deny the early success Everton has had so far. Everton has been a fun team to watch offensively, with no dominant scorer in sight. The Blues have passed the ball 3,822 times, fourth-most in the Premier League. Michael Keane is second in the Premier League with 557 passes and Yerry Mina is ninth with 479 passes. Everton loves to keep the competition on their feet with a moving ball. That, in part, is why I would love to see Everton crack the Champion's League. This team is fun to watch. Part of why I want them to make the Champion's League is also because they've been parked behind the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool for all these years. But this team creates a ton of magic on the attack. The Dogs of War love to seek out scoring opportunities and will go to great lengths to create them. With the Premier League season starting in an interesting fashion (Manchester United is 15th in the Premier League rankings and Manchester City is ranked 10th), it would make for an excellent underdog story. This is especially true for a club that has tried to win with prized stars such as Tim Howard, but has come up short.
