Why Can't the Dodgers Win the World Series?

It seems like no matter how hard the Los Angeles Dodgers try, they can't seem to get their hands on the elusive World Series hardware. Andrew Friedman develops the best players (Cody Bellinger and Walker Buehler) and acquires the best players (Mookie Betts), yet the Dodgers can't win it all. Right now, the Dodgers are faced with a 3-1 deficit against the hot Atlanta Braves. That begs the question of why the Dodgers keep falling short every year.
  • Clayton Kershaw's Postseason Failures: In the regular season, Clayton Kershaw is unstoppable. We're talking winning an NL MVP and numerous Cy Young's. His regular season stats are marvelous; an ERA of 2.43, a WHIP of 1.00, and an average of just 45 walks per season. Yet, Kershaw goes from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde when it comes to the postseason. His ERA balloons to 4.70 while his WHIP goes to 1.17. Kershaw has been known to be a bit predictable with his pitch locations during the postseason and it showed later in Los Angeles's 10-2 loss to Atlanta. Kershaw's postseason failures have been problematic for the Dodgers in October, being a big reason for their early exits.
  • Other Teams Cheating: We're talking about the Houston Astros banging on trash cans and the Boston Red Sox stealing signs. Both times that the Dodgers have made the World Series have resulted in the Dodgers being victims of a cheating opponent. That fate has been cruel to Dodger fans, especially when they were on the cusp of World Series glory.
  • Other Players Failing: Justin Turner has been non-existent this postseason, with a batting average of .206 and just three RBIs. Last season, it was Corey Seager (.150 BA, zero homers and RBIs, .390 OPS) and Cody Bellinger (.211 BA, zero homers and RBIs, .549 OPS) that didn't show up. A lot of the postseason blame has been placed on Kershaw, but there are other players to blame for the Dodgers' postseason failures.
