Who Can the Lakers Get to Accompany LeBron?

Surprisingly, LeBron James was one of only a few noteworthy player to go to a different team. Unfortunately, his new team, the Lakers, have not gotten off to a good start. They seem to be turning things around, but they still have a ways to go before catching Golden State. Which players can they acquire to make their team better and which players should they avoid?
  • Carmelo Anthony: One of LeBron's buddies, Carmelo has fallen by the wayside in recent memory. His lack of defense and being a one-trick pony has left him off the Houston Rockets (and is a reason for why Houston has gotten off to a slow start themselves). As tempting as it is for LeBron to be on the same team with one of his friends, he should avoid the possibility of Carmelo coming to L.A.
  • John Wall: All of the sudden, the Washington Wizards have combusted into a dumpster fire. That means that a fire sale could be coming for Washington. Wall could make the Lakers deep at point guard or they could give up Lonzo Ball and a pick for Wall. Wall would be a hefty cap hit for the Lakers even with his 2022 option, though.
  • Bradley Beal: Like Wall, Beal is an available option if the Lakers wanted to go after the shooting guard. But Beal is less of a cap hit than Wall is and the Lakers could just give up two of their lesser shooting guards and a pick or two to get Beal.
  • Anthony Davis: Davis just changed his agent, so there is some rumors popping up about Davis potentially donning the purple and gold. However, JaVele McGee is having a good season so far. Still, getting an athletic big man like Davis is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. The Lakers would just have to hope that a team like Boston doesn't swoop in on Davis.
