Where Will The Free Agents Land?

It has been a slow off season in Major League Baseball. Aside from a major trade going down with Giancarlo Stanton and Shohei Ohtani going to the Los Angeles Angels, there hasn't been much in the line of free agent signings. So where will the free agents land once the market heats up?
  • J.D. Martinez: Red Sox: Martinez has some familiarity with Dave Dombrowski; Dombrowski was the one who got J.D. to the Tigers. Martinez is the middle-of-the-order bat the Red Sox desperately need.
  • Jake Arrieta: Rangers: Arrieta to the Washington Nationals sounds nice. However, the Nationals are already in luxury tax trouble. Arrieta's also a client of Scott Boras, who's been notorious for demanding big contracts for his clients. The Rangers could use another arm.
  • Yu Darvish: Cubs: The Cubs need pitching of any kind to get back to the World Series, so they'll need to make a splash in the market this season. There are other options like Alex Cobb who sound just as appealing. But the Cubs have the money to give Darvish the contract he wants.
  • Eric Hosmer: Royals: It's between the Royals and the Padres at this point, barring a surprise suitor. Both have offered seven-year deals, but Kansas City is offering more.
  • Alex Cobb: Astros: If the Astros don't land Gerrit Cole, they can go to Cobb as a fall-back plan. Then again, they can just sign him even with Cole and try a six-man rotation. Rangers and Cubs are also potential destinations.
  • Lorenzo Cain: Rangers: The Giants are also a good fit for Cain. However, the Rangers look to compete with the Astros in the AL West. Therefore, they'll need as much help as they can get. Cain can provide a good leadoff bat and a stellar glove for Texas.
  • Logan Morrison: Padres: If the Padres lose the Hosmer sweepstakes, they can settle for an option like Morrison. Morrison has some power in his bat, which will be tested in cavernous Petco Park if he signs with San Diego.
  • Todd Frazier: Braves: This may seem crazy, but the Braves should go in on this signing. Their current thrid base options consist of Adonis Garcia, Rio Ruiz, and Johan Camargo. Camargo is perhaps the best player of the three. As for Frazier, he would bring a veteran presence to a young clubhouse looking to compete in the future.
  • Carlos Gomez: Giants: The Giants need an outfielder and a bat in their lineup, so I can see Gomez being a good fit here. They probably won't need Gomez if the Giants get Cain, however.
