So... The Detroit Tigers made news headlines with a BANG! today when they hired A.J. Hinch to replace Ron Gardenhire as their manager. As you know, Hinch was suspended for a whole season for his involvement with the Astros cheating scandal along with then-general manager of the Astros Jeff Lunhow. As a result, Hinch and Lunhow were fired by the Astros. Hinch owned up to the incident, saying that he failed to stop the sign-stealing going on with the Astros. With that being said, what do I make of the Tigers hiring A.J. Hinch?
I am a person who believes in second chances. I believe that Hinch deserves another shot, especially since it really wasn't his idea to begin with. Yes, he didn't do anything to stop the sign-stealing incident(s) from happening. However, it was the players that were involved. With that being said, all I want from Hinch is results. Get the Tigers back to the playoffs and even to the World Series and I will be happy.
