Week Seven Takeaways in the NFL

A young quarterback established himself in the MVP race and a contender has suddenly soured. What went down in week seven of the NFL season?

• Lamar Jackson Thrust Himself Into the MVP Race: Jackson may have not had a terrific day passing against Seattle. However, he didn't need to since he ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, en route to a 30-16 victory over the Seahawks. Of course, the defense did contribute two touchdowns with a pick six and a fumble return for a touchdown. However, Jackson has shown that he can beat you with more than his arm.
  
• The Eagles Are Suddenly Clipped: A 37-10 asskicking at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys has the Eagles suddenly reeling. A passive defense that has allowed 75 points in the last two games has become an issue for Philadelphia. Things aren't going to get easier for Philly; their next four games are against the Bills, Bears, Patriots, and Seahawks.
  
• Arizona Is At .500. Wait, What? That's right. Kliff Kingsbury's offense is clicking and the Cardinals won their third straight against the New York Giants, 27-21. Chase Edmonds had three touchdowns in that game and Kyler Murray completed 67% of his passes. Granted, Arizona has a tough three-game slate coming up against the Saints, 49ers, and Rams. But, Arizona's three-game winning streak shows why the NFC West is the best division in football right now.
