The Super Bowl is only a week away! That means tons of food, pre-game festivities, and plenty of memorable, pricey commercials. But what about the game itself? Here's what you should know about this year's big game.
  • Who's Playing? It's between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
  • Where's the Super Bowl Being Played? At Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Buccaneers are actually the first NFL team in history to play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium.
  • How Did These Two Get Here? The Tampa Bay Bucs beat the Washington Football Team, New Orleans Saints, and the Green Bay Packers to represent the NFC. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills to return to the Super Bowl as the AFC Champions.
  • What Are Some Familiar Names? For Tampa Bay, you've probably heard of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. After successful stints in New England, the dynamic duo have taken their talents to Florida, leading the much-maligned franchise to their second Super Bowl. For Kansas City, there's only one name you should know by now: Patrick Mahomes. The megastar quarterback has led the Chiefs back to the big game, amassing MVP-level stats. Mahomes threw for 4,740 yards for 8 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
  • What Are Some Names You Should Know? For Tampa Bay, watch for receiver Mike Evans. The Buccaneers star wideout had 7- catches for 1,006 yards and 13 touchdowns. He's been a popular target for Brady and looks to stymie Kansas City defensively. The Bucs also have a defensive star in linebacker Devin White. He leads a strong linebacker group for Tampa Bay, leading the team in tackles with 140 (he also has nine sacks). For the Chiefs, it's Travis Kelce. The NFL is entering a tight end renaissance, with Kelce leading the charge. Kelce's statistics at the position are impressive; he caught 105 passes for 1,416 yards and 11 touchdowns. You should also watch for wideout Tyreek Hill, who had 87 catches, 1,276 yards, and 15 touchdowns.
  • Who's Performing the Halftime Show? The Weeknd will be the headliner for the Super Bowl halftime show.
  • Will There Be Anybody in Attendance? The Super Bowl will have limited capacity.
  • Fun Facts for Each Team: This is Tom Brady's 10th Super Bowl appearance. Obviously, he went to the other Super Bowls with the New England Patriots. Patrick Mahomes was once a draft pick for the Detroit Tigers before pursuing a career in the NFL.
