Chelsea F.C. made a bold move by transferring Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year old was transferred to the tune of 64 million euros. Chelsea, in win-now mode, looks to keep up with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund gets another young player sold for a better profit and it's all thanks to sporting director Michael Zorc.
Under the current Zorc regime, the German club has received 475.85 million euros in transfer fees while only paying out 305.94 million euros in transfers. Players such as Ousmane Dembele (signed for 19 million, sold to Barcelona for 115 million) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (acquired from Saint-Etienne for 13 million and sold to Arsenal for 63.75 million) have landed Borussia Dortmund some serious money.
Zorc acknowledges that the German club is not a big player; he's even compared Borussia Dortmund's 'Mustang' to a big soccer club's 'Ferrari'. As for Pulisic, he has said that he is excited about the move, but he wants to win one Bundesliga title before he leaves for the summer. That's a good thing for a club that's six points behind Bayern Munich in the German table and a clear win for Borussia Dortmund and their fans.
