This is it. Championship Sunday. Four teams are left and it will come down to who wants it more. Can the Chiefs overcome the dynastic Patriots? Who will win in the battle of the offenses in the NFC Championship game?
I'm anxious to see who will win these games today. But the match-up I want to see for Super Bowl 53 is... the Chiefs and the Rams. Now that doesn't mean I'm picking these teams to make it to the Super Bowl. This is merely who I want to see make it there. Let's just get one thing out of the way. We've seen quite a bit of the Patriots, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, Rob Gronkowski, and company over the years. Now the Pats are advising everyone not to "bet against us" since they're the underdogs. That's fine except the Pats aren't used to being underdogs. Therefore, I'm pulling for the Chiefs today. I wouldn't mind seeing Drew Brees get another shot at hoisting the Lombardi trophy against an exciting Chiefs team. However, a battle between two young quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff would make for some awesome football. If you remember back in week eleven on Monday night, it was an offensive display for the ages between these two teams. Hell, the Chiefs were the first NFL team ever to score 50+ points and LOSE. A 54-51 shootout win for the Rams that was supposed to take place in Mexico City wound up being a potential Super Bowl preview. Now, here we are. No disrespect to the Patriots and the Saints, two teams that have come a long way this season. But the Chiefs haven't won a Super Bowl since 1969. As for the Rams, the "Greatest Show on Turf", er, grass is back and in full force. Here's hoping that the Super Bowl match-up after today will be a good one.
