The Seahawks' Offseason Checklist

For the first time since 2011, the Seattle Seahawks missed the playoffs. The endless pile of injuries along with an inconsistent offensive line proved to be fatal for the Seahawks as they watched the Los Angeles Rams take over the NFC West throne. What can the Seahawks do to regain their rightful spot?

• Draft For Depth (Not Done): There are many players on the Seahawks' "Legion of Boom" defense that will become free agents in the near future. Kam Chancellor and Michael Bennett are expected to hit the market by the end of 2020 and Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas are expected to be  free agents after 2018. Most of these players will be entering their 30's soon. If the Seahawks don't want to give money to these players, they'll need to start drafting for defensive depth and younger players. They can also draft for offensive line help if they need to. Speaking of Earl Thomas...
  
• Figure Out the Earl Thomas Situation (Not Done): There have been rumors swirling around that Earl Thomas has great interest in playing for the Dallas Cowboys. If Thomas doesn't get an extension, Seattle will need to find a great haul for Thomas.
• Get Some Offensive Line Help (Partially Done): The Seahawks hired Mike Solari as their new offensive line coach in January, but getting a new coach can only do so much. This is especially true when you have one of the worst running games in the NFL, so they'll need to add some quality blockers.
• Work On An Extension With Russell Wilson (Not Done): The "Legion of Boom" isn't the only key components looking to get paid: Russell Wilson has a contract that expires after 2019. The Seahawks will need to figure out how to make Wilson one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL.
