It seems as if the rumors swirling around Anthony Davis playing for the Celtics won't go away. If the move goes down, it would put Boston over the top in the East and would make them a threat to the Golden State Warriors. There is another team that could stand to benefit from Davis's services... The Houston Rockets are chasing after Golden State in the Western Conference and could use a boost to catch them. Houston can use a player who can draw fouls and is an athletic player. Anthony Davis is that kind of player. He is an athletic big man who can run up and down the floor and isn't afraid to attempt the occasional three-point shot. He's shooting above his career average in that department (34.4% to his career average of 30.4%). Davis is also a big man who isn't too bad at the free-throw line (82.2% this season). So what can the Rockets give up to obtain Davis? They could give away players like Nene, Eric Gordon, and P.J. Tucker to New Orleans. However, New Orleans will look for something to build on in the future. Houston does have a first-round pick in 2019 that they can use along with draft picks in 2020 as well. In any case, Houston needs a big move to get them over the top. The Rockets may not have the artillery that Boston does regarding trade bait, but they can make a case that's just as appealing. After all, you need to pull out all the stops to 'blast' past Golden State. Photo courtesy of ClutchPoints
