The Best Things About Wrestlemania 35

Another Wrestlemania is in the books, so it's onward towards the rest of the pro wrestling year. Wrestlemania 35 wasn't that bad this year, giving the fans what they wanted and much more. Granted, the main event did feature a botched finisher. But the rest of the show was actually awesome to watch. Here's what I liked about the Grandest Stage of Them All.
  • The New Champions: There were plenty of new champions crowned at Wrestlemania. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins both saw a career revival as they beat... The Revival for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Seth Rollins slayed Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship, giving RAW a full-time champion. Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan in one of the more historic, inspiring matches seen in Wrestlemania history. His WWE Championship victory was celebrated by his fellow cohorts of the New Day. Becky Lynch became both RAW Women's Champion and Smackdown Women's Champion, beating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the main event. Speaking of Lynch...
  • Becky Lynch Getting the Spotlight: "The Man" deserved her shot at being the top dog in the biggest event in sports entertainment. Lynch got a massive push throughout all of last year as she became the female version of Stone Cold Steve Austin. It culminated to a big Wrestlemania win, with Lynch becoming the first female to hold both the RAW and Smackdown Women's Championships. Lynch deserved this moment and deserved to be the top superstar for WWE's biggest event.
  • Kofi's Win: Kingston wrestled an inspiring match of his own against Daniel Bryan, winning the WWE Championship. I honestly expected some sort of heel turn involving the New Day, but it never came to fruition, nor should it have. Like Lynch, Kingston rode a huge wave of momentum into Wrestlemania, getting his push after Elimination Chamber. With Kingston's win, it gives the New Day status as one of the most lucrative tag teams in WWE's history.
  • The Lack of Celebrity Influence: There wasn't much in the line of celebrity influences in Wrestlemania 35 and rightfully so. There was Colin Jost and Michael Che, but that was about it. Usually, Wrestlemania is an event that is heavy in celebrity influence, detracting from any hope a fringe wrestler will have of getting their time. This year was different and it was refreshing to see.
  • The Miz vs. Shane McMahon: The Miz is honestly one of the best mid-card wrestlers the WWE has ever had. Reminiscent of Roddy Piper, the Miz's work ethic in and out of the ring has been heralded by many. His match with Shane McMahon was a shining example, showing the Miz's aggression towards McMahon throughout the match. The Miz didn't win, but it showed how polished the Miz was in the ring.
