Takeaways From Week Three of the NFL Season

9/28/2020

There are plenty of noteworthy headlines and question marks after Week 3 of the NFL season. Here's what went down in Week 3 of the NFL season.
  • Mahomes Wins the QB Duel: Lamar Jackson didn't even show up after going 15-for-28 with just 97 passing yards. He did have 83 rushing yards on nine carries, but Baltimore's offense was stagnant, otherwise. On the other hand, Patrick Mahomes did Patrick Mahomes things, going 31-for-42 with 385 passing yards and four touchdowns in Kansas City's 34-20 win on Monday night. With Mahomes winning the duel of the MVP quarterbacks, it seems like no one can stop Kansas City this season.
  • The Falcons Blew Another Lead! Another one...

The Atlanta Falcons blew another lead, this time at the behest of the Chicago Bears. DA Bears scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to stun the Falcons, 30-26, erasing a 16-point deficit in the process. Suddenly, Matt Ryan looks pedestrian, completing half of his passes for 238 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Dan Quinn's ass must be burning from his seat being so hot.
  • The NFC East is Terrible: The first place team(s) in the division are 1-2. It's between the underachieving Dallas Cowboys and the underwhelming Washington Football Team (at least their defensive line is scary). The Giants are obviously winless, getting throttled by a wounded San Francisco team, 36-9, while the Eagles tied... the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-23. With Dallas losing to Seattle, 38-31, and Washington losing to Cleveland, 34-20, there's a possibility the NFC East will have an 8-8 (or worse) division champion. Yikes...
  • Cleveland's Over .500 for the First Time in Six Years: YAY! Nick Chubb is turning into one of the more underrated running backs in the NFL, running for 108 yards on 19 carries. Cleveland showed that they can throttle you on the ground when they want to and can beat you through the air during other times. Can Cleveland hold onto their momentum and stun Dallas next week? Stay tuned.
Top Five Power Rankings:
  1. Kansas City Chiefs
  2. Buffalo Bills
  3. Seattle Seahawks
  4. Green Bay Packers
  5. Pittsburgh Steelers
