Takeaways From The eleventh Week In The NFL

The playoff picture is tightening as December looms large. For some teams, it feels like the eleventh hour is upon them (see the Chargers and Jaguars). Here's what I took away from the eleventh week in the NFL.
  • No Teams Are In The Mood For A Backup Quarterback: Colin Kaepernick held his workout this past weekend in Atlanta (moving his workout in the process) and eight teams showed. One of those suitors was his former squad, San Francisco, and others included the Lions and the Bengals. However, there is a bit of a feeling that not many teams are willing to bend over backwards for a guy best suited as a backup, especially with all the drama surrounding that backup.
  • Tom Brady's Frustration With The Pats Offense: Against an Eagles team that has been depleted on defense all season, New England could only muster 17 points. New England can thank the "Boogeymen" for their 9-1 start along with the 108 points they've allowed, because Baltimore would've been running away with the AFC right now. 359.9 total yards a game isn't bad, but it isn't what the Patriots have been used to. If New England wants to repeat as Super Bowl champs, they'll need to figure some things out offensively.
  • Is Baltimore The New King Of The AFC? Speaking of the Ravens, their resounding 41-7 win over Houston proved that the AFC isn't New England's conference to run away with. The Ravens have the best rushing attack in the NFL (203.8 yards a game), with Mark Ingram finding comfort in his new digs. Of course, Lamar Jackson is largely responsible for a good chunk of those yards and his Sunday performance validated his MVP status. He threw four touchdowns and ran for 86 yards on nine carries.
