Surprise MLB Teams to Watch for this Season

Hallelujah, spring training is here! We can finally enjoy long summer days, warm weather, and baseball! What may seem like a sport where everyone is trying to lose leaves room for some potentially surprising teams. Who is set to shock the world and possibly make the postseason?

• Chicago White Sox: The White Sox may have missed out on Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, but they still have a good team developing. A young rotation along with a lineup that has the likes of Yoan Moncada and an up-and-coming Eloy Jimenez should make for a surprisingly dangerous team. Plus, the AL Central is weak and Cleveland appears to be on its last legs. If this year isn't the year, watch out for the White Sox next year.
  
• Philadelphia Phillies: Speaking of Bryce Harper, there are plenty of rumors surrounding Harper and the Phillies. If the Phillies end up not getting Harper, they'll still have Jean Segura, Andrew McCutchen, and J.T. Realmuto in their lineup. That does not seem like a bad lineup at all. Also, the Phillies added some bullpen pieces. As long as Gabe Kapler doesn't screw the season up, the Phillies could be in the running this year.
  
• Cincinnati Reds: The Reds added Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp in a hitter-friendly ballpark to a team that can hit. Scooter Gennett and Joey Votto also make for a dangerous core of players, while Eugenio Suarez isn't a bad player himself. Can Cincinnati overtake the Cubs and shock the world?
