Welcome to another edition of Steam Review, where I showcase what games you should (or shouldn't) be playing on Steam! This edition will be covering Shantae and the Seven Sirens, a game made by WayForward Games, the people responsible for River City Girls.

Shantae and the Seven Sirens was initially released on September 19, 2019, with a full release on May 28, 2020. Developed and published by WayForward games, Shantae and the Seven Sirens is a Metroidvania that can be played on the XBOX One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch among other platforms.

First, let me just say how FAWKIN' ADORABLE SHANTAE IS!

Don't you just want to run up to her and give her a big hug like a heart squid? Shantae's adorableness is displayed throughout the game, from her upbeat attitude after falling into a pit to screaming bloody murder while saying, "I'M HERE!"

Anyways, Shantae and the Seven Sirens is an easy Metroidvania to play. There were some sections of the game that I struggled with because I didn't pick up on what to do. Still, it's easy once you figure things out. The game also has a vast amount of collectibles, ranging from Monster Cards to nuggets to Heart Squids. Shantae and the Seven Sirens is loaded with content that will keep you playing for hours.

As usual with every Shantae game, you can upgrade your attacks and get health potions. There are also various puzzles scattered throughout the dungeons that require your wits. Shantae and the Seven Sirens has everything you need for a fun Metroidvania.

I have sparingly played Shantae for the Game Boy Color, a game that has earned its revered cult classic status. Shantae and the Seven Sirens is a fun game that is definitely worth your time and then some.
