Welcome to another Steam Review! This edition will be taking a look at a game called Murder By Numbers. Developed by Mediatonic and published by the Irregular Corporation, Murder By Numbers was initially released on March 5, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
Murder By Numbers takes Honor Mizrahi, a furloughed actress in Hollywood, on an unexpected journey of detective work. She meets a robot named SCOUT, whose memory has been completely erased. Together, they crack cases and try to find a patch to prevent SCOUT from turning into a war machine.
Murder By Numbers is a puzzle game that is gripping. Think of the Miles Edgeworth portion of the Ace Attorney series mixed with Picross (the composer from the Ace Attorney series actually did work for Murder By Numbers). The more puzzles you solve, the higher your detective rank goes. The dialogue in this game is hilarious and the cases have numerous twists and turns. Just when you think you have the perp, BAM! Some new piece of evidence or statement shows up to throw everything for a loop.
I love Picross games to death. They're fun and addicting. Murder By Numbers takes that concept, incorporates it into a detective game, and spins it perfectly. I definitely recommend purchasing Murder By Numbers today.
My life! Food, sports, school. It's what it is!
