Sleeper Teams in the NFL

You probably know which NFL teams will rule the roost this season. You're going to place your bets on teams like New England, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Seattle, and Atlanta to make the Super Bowl this year. But here are a few teams that you shouldn't fall asleep on this upcoming season.

1. Oakland Raiders: If Derek Carr can play up to his ability again and if his offensive weapons can carry the team, this will be a dangerous group to watch. The team ranked in the top four in DVOA when covering the #1 receiver for the opposing team, so they should be set on defense, too.
2. Carolina Panthers: There's still plenty of pieces on the team that went 15-1 a couple seasons ago and made the Super Bowl. Their linebacking core is strong, and Christian McCaffrey has looked good this preseason. If the offensive line can keep Cam Newton and McCaffrey upright, they should return to the top of the NFC South.
3. Los Angeles Chargers: The Chargers are considered by many to be a dark horse pick for the playoffs. They have plenty of depth all around to compensate for any injuries that happen to their team and Philip Rivers is a decent quarterback to lead his team to the playoffs. The Chargers also ranked eighth in defensive efficiency last season (-6.9%). The AFC West is going to be a danger dance once again, though.
   
4. Philadelphia Eagles: Philly has high hopes of winning the Super Bowl and a lot of those aspirations will ride on Carson Wentz in the future. The Eagles have added some offensive weapons to their game like Alshon Jeffrey, so this should make the offense flow more smoothly for Wentz.
