Rams' Off-Season Checklist

3/5/2020

The Los Angeles Rams fell from their NFC Championship grace and went 9-7, missing the playoffs in the process. Is there anything the Rams can do to get back to the playoffs?
  • Declutter The Cap: The Rams are in salary cap hell right now. The Rams have five players with a cap number over $10 million, with only $14,791,619 to work with in cap space. Something will have to be done to move over $80 million away from the Rams. Granted, it probably won't be done in one fell swoop. However, moving one of the five players with over $10 million in cap space will help immensely.
  • Repair The Blocking: If the Rams are to return to the playoffs next season, they'll need to hit some home runs in the NFL Draft. Andrew Whitworth is 38 years old with his contract expiring in the next few months. Los Angeles must take a look at left tackle. Los Angeles will also need to take a look at the interior offensive line, which will help Jared Goff improve.
  • Repair The Other Side Of The Trenches As Well: This is especially true with the edge rushing position. Yes, the Rams have Aaron Donald and budding star Cory Littleton up front. However, having a fast edge rusher that can generate pressure will be a boon for the Rams.
