Raiders' Off-Season Checklist

The Oakland Raiders have a young team that's filled with talent. What did they do in the off-season to help bolster their youthful squad?

• Find Their Man for Head Coach (done): Jon Gruden makes his return to Oakland after doing color commentary on ESPN's Monday Night Football. "Chucky" hopes to bring back the edge that the Raiders once had; Oakland made the playoffs twice and had a record of 38-26 when Gruden was head coach.
  
• Re-sign and Keep Key Players (done): Amari Cooper isn't the only player who's been secured for Oakland. Safety Reggie Nelson and kicker Giorgio Tavecchio have also been re-signed for the Raiders and will be key pieces for the Raiders going forward.
  
• Get Complimentary Receivers (done): Amari Cooper will also be getting some help in the receiving group. The Raiders signed Jordy Nelson and acquired Martavis Bryant from Pittsburgh to give quarterback Derek Carr options.
  
• Improve at Linebacker (done): Oakland needed to be better at pass rushing and they have done that... on paper. Tamir Whitehead (four fumble recoveries, 110 combined tackles in 2017 with Detroit) looks to be a starter for Oakland as they added linebackers like James Cowser and Shilique Calhoun for depth. Drafting Maurice Hurst to bolster the team up front defensively will help as well.
