Potential NFL Fantasy Busts

The NFL regular season is rapidly approaching, which means fantasy football season is around the corner as well. Fantasy football is a popular endeavor among NFL fans as a way to waste time at the office or at home. Many of you have probably drafted your teams already, but here's a list of potential fantasy busts that could impact your team.
  1. Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers: There are some running backs who can get away with having a mediocre offensive line in front of them due to their ability to maneuver. However, if Carolina's blockers can't protect Cam Newton from dangerous hits, what makes McCaffrey, a rookie no less, safe from the wrath of opposing defenses?
  2. Marshawn Lynch, Oakland Raiders: Lynch hasn't played in the NFL since 2015, which means he'll have a bit of rust to him. Lynch is also 31 years old, not a great age for a running back to be.
  3. Sammy Watkins, Los Angeles Rams: The injury history of Watkins is scary, given the amount of lower body injuries he's had throughout his career. His quarterback, Jared Goff, looked pathetic in his rookie year, and the NFC West is brutal in terms of secondaries.
  4. Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers: The Carolina wide receiver reported to camp at 280 pounds, not an ideal weight to be at. Also expect Carolina to give Christian McCaffrey more touches with the football, taking opportunities away from Benjamin. Then there's Cam Newton and his playmaking abilities...
  5. Julius Thomas, Miami Dolphins: Losing Ryan Tannehill to injury for the season hurts the Fins in many ways. One of these ways is through Julius Thomas, who looks to be a tight end option for Miami. He won't be able to duplicate his two seasons in 2013-2014 with Denver, especially if he fades down the stretch the way he did with Jacksonville where he got injured in Week 11 of last season.
