Potential Expansion Draft Targets for the Kraken

While the expansion draft is still a ways away, it's not too late to pick some potential targets for the draft. Seattle Kraken fans will be hoping for the same stroke of luck the Vegas Golden Knights had in their inaugural season. How will they be able to achieve said stroke of luck? By possibly picking these guys in the draft.
  • Tyler Johnson (Tampa Bay Lightning): First off, Johnson is a Washington state native (Spokane), which would make sense for civic pride. Secondly, the center has been an important cog in Tampa Bay's system, scoring 153 goals and providing 186 assists. With a career plus/minus of 85, Johnson has done an excellent job setting up his Lightning teammates for scoring opportunities.
  • Jordan Kyrou (St. Louis Blues): Another center, Kyrou has proven to be a hard-working player in St. Louis's system. The center has dominated the OHL and could be an imposing force in the NHL. St. Louis will have to let some talent go and Kyrou may be the one they release.
  • Mathieu Perrault (Winnipeg Jets): Before the 2019-2020 campaign, Perrault scored 45 goals in the past three seasons with Winnipeg. His shooting percentage before 2019-2020 was 14.01 in the past two seasons with the Jets. The left winger can score goals and provide a veteran presence on the Kraken.
  • Henrik Lundqvist (New York Rangers): If Lundqvist is available, would the Kraken grab him in hopes of Lundqvist becoming like Marc-Andre Fleury with Vegas? The bona fide future Hall-of-Famer was nominated for the Vezina trophy in his first three seasons before winning it in 2012 and recorded 11 30-win seasons during his time with the New York Rangers. Kraken fans would rally behind Lundqvist the same way Golden Knight fans rallied around Fleury.
