The President has been kidnapped by ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President? That is a classic line from the 1980's game, Bad Dudes, and the premise of the game: rescuing Ronald Reagan from a rogue gang of ninjas because Ronald Reagan didn't have his firearms with him when these ninjas attacked.
Initially an arcade game released in 1988 by Data East, Bad Dudes is a beat 'em up that was ported to systems such as the Commodore 64, the NES, and the home computer. You play as Striker and Blade, the "Bad Dudes", and your mission is to save President Ronnie.
That opening line is perhaps the most iconic thing about this game. The gameplay feels average, but the music is good. Sometimes, the boss fights can feel frustrating to the point of you possibly throwing your controller. Other than that, the game isn't that bad.
Bad Dudes is a game that you should check out for that opening scene alone. Whether you stick with the game for its gameplay is another question. But ask yourself this: Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President?
