This edition of Nostalgia Game Review takes a look at a game based on the famous Disney movie, Aladdin. Released on November 11, 1993 for the Sega Genesis by Virgin Games and Disney Software, Aladdin also had a SNES release. The difference was that Capcom released the SNES version of Aladdin.
If you've seen Aladdin, you know the objective. Rescue Princess Jasmine and Agrabah from the clutches of Jafar (only Aladdin stops Jafar from becoming uber-powerful in the movie). You can attack with your sword or can throw apples at enemies. You can also play a mini game to gain lives, more apples, and more.
The game is fun to play. You're going through the streets fighting off guards, then going through the Cave of Wonders on your flying carpet. I'm not used to playing with the Genesis controller, but the game still plays well. It felt like I was watching the movie on the Genesis. There is some difficulty to the game. But that shouldn't deter you from picking up the game.
Yes, this is a shorter review than usual. But there's a lot to like about Aladdin. It'll take you to... A whole new world.
My life! Food, sports, school. It's what it is!
