NFC South Preview 2019

The NFC South almost had a representative in the Super Bowl last season, but missed out due to a no-call on a pass interference play. Can this division produce a Super Bowl finalist?
  • Top Dog: New Orleans Saints: This is the team that got screwed from that no-call! They still have a slew of offensive weapons, although Mark Ingram is gone. Michael Thomas should have a big year along with Alvin Kamara. Then, there's this Drew Brees guy everyone's heralding about... I hear he's good. New Orleans has a good shot, especially if the edge rushers (Cameron Jordan and crew) have a monster season again.
  • Dark Horse Contender: Atlanta Falcons: Adding to the interior offensive line should help the Falcons. Julio Jones (NFL-best 1,677 receiving yards last season) will greatly appreciate this, as will Matt Ryan (4,924 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, seven interceptions). If Atlanta's defense can avoid the injury bug, especially to players like Keanu Neal and Deion Jones, they should be set to compete and possibly win the division.
  • The Meh Team: Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton must stay upright and have better protection in front of him for this team to have a chance. Otherwise, they will be mired in the middle of the pack. Christian McCaffrey looks like a good member of this team, though.
  • Cellar Dweller: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Fun fact: Tampa Bay was the best passing team in the NFL last season, averaging 320.3 yards per game through the air. They also added Bruce Arians as their head coach, so maybe they have a shot at finally making the playoffs this year? If Jameis Winston loses his cool again, this team will be at the bottom of the NFC South. Vita Vea also looks busted up, again.
