NFC East Preview 2019

Now we will take a look at the NFC, where every team hopes to end New England’s reign and bring the Lombardi trophy back to the NFC. Will that team come from the NFC East? 

• Top Dog: Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys return the same elite defense and the same strong interior offensive line that they had last season. One major question mark that may not come back to start the season is Ezekiel Elliott, who’s holding out for a new contract. As much as Jerry Jones believes that the Cowboys don’t need a running back, they do need someone who can open up opposing teams for the pass. Elliott does that for Dallas.
• Also a Playoff Contender: Philadelphia Eagles: Carson Wentz will take the reins full-time for the Eagles now, so the big question will be if he can stay healthy. The Eagles’s success hinges on if Wentz can stay upright for a full season. If not, they may be in trouble.
• Middle of the Pack: Washington Redskins: The feud between Trent Williams and Washington has gotten to petty levels now. Jay Gruden has said that Washington will not trade the offensive lineman despite the holdout that Williams is currently doing. At least they got a quarterback in Dwayne Haskins, who shows plenty of upside.
• Cellar Dweller: New York Giants: What the hell is Dave Gettleman doing in New York?
