My Favorite Video Game Series

Today is National Video Game Day, which ironically falls on my birthday. Considering how much I love being a gamer, I feel the need to share my gaming passion with my audience. Here's a list of my five favorite video game series.

1. Super Mario Bros. The obvious one. I grew up on this and this was the OG series to play growing up. From the one that started it all, Super Mario Bros., to Super Mario 3D World, there are countless memories that I've shared with family and friends through Mario.
   
2. Dragon Ball Z: I've completed a good chunk of the Budokai series (which is my favorite fighting series aside from the Smash Bros. series) and love playing the Legacy of Goku series. Some of the games are hit or miss, but there are gems like Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure that resonate with me.
   
3. Pokemon: Although the seventh generation turned me off, I still like playing the Pokemon games. I like the fourth generation and, yes, the sixth generation, in particular due to their expansion on the competitive scene. The match-ups and the adventures have always been a joy for me.
   
4. Castlevania: Do you like games that provide a good challenge? Are you a fan of the "Metroid-Vania" style of play? Are you a fan of Koji Igarashi's work like I am? Then Castlevania is the series for you!
   
5. Mega Man: The tried-and-true formula of picking your own path en route to kicking Dr. Wily's ass has grown on me as of late. The robot masters and their level designs are thought out well and make for a good challenge.
