MLB Players to Watch For in the Postseason

For every baseball junkie out there, this is the most wonderful time of the year. Magical October baseball moments, legends forged, and dynasties rising. This is what makes October baseball one of the greatest times around. It helps to know who the players are during this memorable season, of course. Here's who you should keep a watch out for this October.

• Nelson Cruz, Minnesota Twins: Cruz may be 39 years old, but he's still crushing the ball. He batted .311 with 41 homers this season with a .392 OBP to boot. Cruz also has a postseason batting average of .292 with 16 homers and a postseason OPS of 1.016. If there's one guy who brings the power during October, it's Cruz.
  
• Justin Verlander, Houston Astros: The former AL MVP has an ERA of 3.19 along with a WHIP of 1.02, two complete games, and a shutout in the postseason. Verlander also has a SO/9 of 9.9. Throw in Verlander's 2017 ALCS MVP award and you got a lethal pitcher who powers up when the lights are brightest.
  
• Max Scherzer, Washington Nationals: Verlander's former Tiger teammate is another pitcher to watch for. Scherzer's stats may not be as stellar as Verlander's in the postseason (ERA of 3.83, WHIP of 1.12). However, Scherzer is striking out 11 batters per nine innings and had a dominant ALCS in 2013, where he had an ERA of 2.70 along with 21 strikeouts against Boston.
  
• Dallas Keuchel, Atlanta Braves: Keuchel doesn't allow homers a whole lot, as indicated by his 0.9 home runs per nine innings (HR/9). The former Cy Young winner also has an ERA of 3.31 and has the veteran pedigree that Atlanta needs for the postseason.
