Lions' Off-Season Checklist

The Detroit Lions had yet another mediocre season, falling in the second half en roue to a 3-12-1 season. What can the Lions do this season to change their limp culture?

• Build Up The Defense: Detroit was terrible on defense last season. They allowed the second-most yards in the NFL last season (400.4 yards per game allowed in 2019) and had a defensive DVOA of 10.7% (28th in the NFL). Chase Young will likely be off the board at number two, but the Lions can trade down and wait for a corner like Jeff Okudah. Either that or they can go with Derrick Brown with the third pick.
  
• Protect Stafford: Matthew Stafford was out for most of the 2019 NFL season, but he was also subjected to many dangerous hits. Detroit should look into drafting some linemen in the later rounds and bring some depth to the position.
  
• Shake Up The Staff (Done): Paul Pasqualoni was canned as the defensive coordinator and the Lions staff experienced a major shake-up. Wade Phillips would be a good fit for the Lions. He engineered defenses for the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams, with both teams reaching the Super Bowl under Phillips's defenses.
