Not giving Tyreek Hill a suspension for his domestic abuse allegations is a bad look for Roger Goodell. This is especially true with Goodell’s handling of the Ray Rice investigation and the Deflategate investigation, where Goodell gave a longer suspension to Tom Brady for deflating footballs than to Ray Rice for beating his spouse.
Granted, these are just allegations. But, there was audio that surfaced that overheard Hill threatening his family. The least Goodell could’ve done was wait until a month later before putting his foot down on the situation. Instead, Goodall sends a wrong message to NFL fans that this sort of behavior is acceptable.
If we had an independent board that would decide the fate of NFL players in situations like this, it would make things easier. Having Goodell play the overlord in every situation is not good for the NFL. Goodell’s handling of the Hill investigation doesn’t help his case.
