Finishing 14th in the Premier League, AFC Bournemouth looks to ascend higher in the league. What do the Cherries need to do to make this happen?
  • Replace Outgoing Parts: AFC Bournemouth is losing plenty of pieces during this transfer period. Tyrone Mings is going to Aston Villa for £26 million on a permanent transfer, Callus Wilson reportedly has the interest of West Ham, and Emerson Hyndman has plucked from the Cherries by Atlanta United. How AFC Bournemouth goes about replacing the pieces will determine its fate for the season.
  • Find Some Offensive Power: Wilson is a big part of Boscombe’s attack, finishing ninth in goals in Premier League play with 14. As a whole, AFC Bournemouth was seventh in goals scored with 56 team goals. Getting some offense to accompany Ryan Fraser on the attack will be key for Bournemouth’s success this season if Wilson leaves.
  • Find Some Tacklers: Despite the high-flying attack and having ten team clean sheets (tied for eighth in the Premier League), Bournemouth has 19 losses last season, sixth-worst in the Premier League. That’s because Bournemouth wasn’t aggressive enough defensively, accounting for 526 team tackles (19th in the Premier League). Getting aggressive defenders will help the Cherries in the long term for the season.
