I want to ask Lions fans a question...

At long last, head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn were fired this week. Lions fans rejoiced as the failed "Patriot Way" was finally put to rest. Hopes of a new regime now resides in the minds of Lions fans everyone. As a former Lions fan, I have one question for the current group.

What makes you think things are going to change? Honestly, Jim Caldwell was the best head coach your team had in a while. Yes, he was awful at press conferences. But Caldwell got your team to the playoffs, albeit a wild card exit. The Ford family decided that the playoffs weren't good enough and gambled on a defensive coordinator. In an age where offensive coordinators are getting hired to put out the best offenses (see the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams), the Ford family decided that a defensive coordinator whose defenses were awful in New England (you all know it was Brady and Belichick who won games for New England) was the best candidate to lead the Lions.

Tony Dungy, who grew up in MICHIGAN, wanted to coach the Lions. Unfortunately, the dimwitted Ford family turned him down. How could you turn down a Super Bowl-winning coach who's built ironclad defenses in Tampa Bay and had unfounded success with Peyton Manning? Only the Fords could commit this atrocity and Detroit will suffer as long as the Fords hold the reins.

The Lions will get a new general manager and head coach and STILL fall short in the NFL. While teams like Arizona, Kansas City, and Cleveland are building teams to be juggernauts, the Fords are stuck in neutral. This is especially true since the Lions have had only one playoff win since 1957. The Fords are proof that not all families should own a sports team, especially one that gets their asses kicked by Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

Your owners have lost $9 billion in the past DECADE in business affairs (while Elon Musk's net worth has skyrocketed), which proves my belief that my birth state doesn't know a damn thing about running a business. As opposed to economical meccas such as Texas and California, the Fords are proof of fossilized practices from Michigan and its largest metropolitan area. How long will Lions fans be subjected to such ineptitude before they stop showing up for games? How long will the Lions hold onto this belief that they're the Chicago Cubs of the NFL? Make a change, Lions fans. Stop buying the merchandise, stop going to the games, stop watching the games on television, and stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Hit the Fords in their pocketbooks and they will likely sell the team if they are losing money.
