Here's Another Question: Where Will Urban Meyer End Up Next (IF He Unretires)?

Driving home for a counselor appointment today, I had an epiphany. The last time Urban Meyer 'retired', he came back and coached Ohio State just after. Now Meyer isn't known for having the best integrity in the game, with many of his recruits getting arrested and involved in some sort of trouble along with Zach Smith and his domestic violence spat. Did Urban Meyer duck out because of impending trouble with Ohio State or is he retiring for good?

As mentioned in the previous post, Meyer does suffer from an arachnoid cyst in his brain. This causes him to have severe headaches under stressful situations. Considering how stressful a football game can be, this is a legitimate reason. However, Meyer has said this and came back to coach Ohio State. He even admitted to having difficulty gauging the legitimacy of this retirement.

Which raises the question: Where will Meyer go if he does unretire? Which schools desperately need his solid recruiting and coaching at the expense of some heavy baggage?
  • USC: The Trojans are no stranger to controversy themselves. They had to vacate their 2004 championship for violating NCAA rules concerning Reggie Bush receiving improper gifts. USC used to be a great recruiting school that had legitimate teams when Pete Carroll was around and can do the same with Urban Meyer if he returns. The only question is will the Pac-12's downward spiral be too much to keep Meyer around.
  • Florida State: Yes, the Seminoles have a fresh new coach under their system. However, like the ACC itself, Florida State is down in terms of college football play. Meyer will be back in the Florida hotbed and can give Dabo Swinney and the dominant lines and athleticism of Clemson some trouble.
  • Tennessee: What if Meyer were to come back to the SEC? Compared to the SEC West, the SEC East only has Georgia as an elite team and this would boost the SEC even further. However, it would be a challenge for Meyer to compete since he would have to face Nick Saban and his Crimson Tide crew.
  • Michigan: HAHAHAHA, it's never happening. Harbaugh may still be there if Meyer does unretire, anyway.
Maybe Meyer means it this time. As mentioned earlier, college football is probably one of the most stressful games to coach. Maybe Meyer's legitimately done.
