Five Bowl Games To Get Hyped About

With the college football regular season wrapped up, it's now time for bowl season to commence. When I talk about bowl games to get hyped up about, I'm not talking about the New Year's Six bowls or the playoff games. I'm talking about the other bowls that you should pay attention to, i.e. bowls like the Alamo Bowl and Music City Bowl. Which games should you watch for as the end of the year rolls by?

1. Citrus Bowl: Penn State vs. Kentucky (Jan. 1): Kentucky has been a terrific story all season, with players such as Benny Snell and Josh Allen leading the way. In fact, you can make the case that Kentucky football has been more exciting than Kentucky basketball this season. The Wildcats will get a good matchup with James Franklin's squad on New Year's Day.
   
2. New Mexico Bowl: Utah State vs. North Texas (Dec. 15): A battle of two underrated Group of Five programs, both teams figure to ram the ball down the opponent's throats through the running game. Expect a shootout and an exciting game to kick off the bowl season.
   
3. Camping World Bowl: West Virginia vs. Syracuse (Dec. 28): Here's a battle between two former Big East teams. Wil Grier and the Mountaineers should also engage in a high-scoring affair with a Syracuse team that's averaging 206.4 rushing yards a game.
   
4. Liberty Bowl: Missouri vs. Oklahoma State (Dec. 31): A battle of the old Big 12 as Oklahoma State will test Missouri defensively. How will Missouri fare against Taylor Cornelius's numerous passing weapons?
   
5. SDCCU Holiday Bowl: Northwestern vs. Utah (Dec. 31): Points will be at a premium as these two conference championship runner-ups square off. NFL Draft prospects to potentially watch for in this game include Utes safety Chase Hansen and Northwestern outside linebacker Nate Hall.
