Chris Paul was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder after an unceremonious fallout with James Harden in Houston. Now rumors have surfaced of Paul’s potential landing spot, with Sam Presti looking to offload him before the beginning of the NBA season. But does anyone want him?
There are many factors working against Paul. One is his age; Paul is 34 years old, which means not many teams are in the market for a point guard that old to start. Paul also has a decorated injury history, which will hurt his value even more. Let’s not forget that Paul is a little undersized at point guard, standing six feet tall. There’s also the contract situation, which would call for a massive buyout to happen. No team is willing to pay a man an average of $40 million over the course of the next three seasons, especially with the aforementioned circumstances.
There are rumored suitors such as the Heat. But does Pat Riley want to take that risk? Jimmy Butler is a combustible element and may set off more fireworks with Paul around. Once again, this begs the question: does anyone want CP3?
