A top team loses its top quarterback and contenders prove their mettle. Who hit their mark and who missed the target?

• Winner: Michigan: Don't sleep on Jim Harbaugh's crew just yet. They may be basically eliminated from playoff contention, but they continue to make noise. Today's 44-10 shellacking of Michigan State is a perfect example. With 467 total yards of offense coupled with forcing two MSU turnovers, the Wolverines are showing they may disrupt the playoff picture.
• Winner: Georgia: The #4 Bulldogs withstood two late drives from Auburn en route to a 21-14 victory in a key SEC clash. Georgia held Auburn to 84 yards rushing, resulting in the victory. As a result, the Dawgs clinched the SEC East and put the college football world on notice that they'll be in the playoff mix.
• Winner: Appalachian State: Another dominating win by the Mountaineers as they outscored Georgia State, 35-6, after the first quarter. Could this Sun Belt team be in the New Year's Six mix?
• Loser: Miami Dolphins: How is an NFL team on the loser's list? Because Miami won't get a chance to draft their franchise quarterback. Unless the Bengals miraculously win at least two games this season, the Dolphins will miss out on Tua Tagovailoa, who hurt his hip and will be out for the rest of the season.
• Loser: Baylor: Speaking of the NFL, the Baylor Bears decided to remind sports fans of a particular NFL team that blew a 28-3 lead in a big game. This loss hurts the chances of the Big 12 getting a playoff team in.
• Loser: Nebraska: Moments after getting embarrassed by Wisconsin, 37-21, the Cornhuskers give Scott Frost a two-year extension. Why?
