Chiefs' Off-Season Checklist

The Chiefs made the playoffs last year, winning the AFC West division thanks to their hot start. Unfortunately, they fell apart against the Tennessee Titans in the playoffs. What will Kansas City's plans be going forward?

• Revamp the Defense (done): Giving their defensive line a makeover is a part of the Chiefs' plan for their defense, with the addition of Xavier Williams being the proof. They also traded Marcus Peters away to the Rams and added Breeland Sparks to the pass rush in the draft. Don't forget about the return of Eric Berry to the defense.
  
• Give Patrick Mahomes the Reins (done): Mahomes is a young gun-slinger that the Chiefs hope can be a franchise cornerstone. They traded away Alex Smith, who had a decent 2018 season. However, Smith is getting older, so it makes sense that Mahomes is getting the nod.
  
• Add Some Playmakers for Mahomes (done): Sammy Watkins might not have the best contract. However, he does add a good complement to Tyreek Hill as a receiver for Mahomes. Randall Telfer is another addition that can be a boon for Mahomes.
