Steam Review: Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight

Welcome to another Steam Review, where I review games that are on Steam! This review is a spooky one as we take a look at Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight.

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is a game that was initially released for Microsoft Windows on March 4, 2016. It can also be found on XBox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Linux, and macOS. Developed and/or published by DANGEN Entertainment, Playism, and Bombservice, (with help from Active Gaming Media and Limited Run Games), Reverie Under the Moonlight is the fourth installment in the Momodora series.

Reverie Under the Moonlight follows a priestess named Kaho, who travels to the eastern Kingdom of Karst to stop a curse from affecting her village. Along the way, she meets Cath, a knightess who tells Kaho that the queen is causing the curse to happen, with the only way to stop the curse is to kill the queen.

The game can be simple for non-Metroidvania players and can be challenging for Metroidvania aficionados. It's a proper balance of difficulty. The gameplay feels right, the storytelling is superb, and the characters will grow on you.

Overall, Reverie Under the Moonlight is a nice Metroidvania to give a try. If you're looking for a frighteningly good time this Halloween, give Reverie Under the Moonlight a shot.
