Can These NHL Teams Rebound?

Close to the halfway point of the NHL season, there are a few hockey teams who've struggled to start off the season right. There's still plenty of time to turn things around. However, a good indicator of a playoff team is how well a hockey team does by the end of November. Can these teams rebound?
  • Pittsburgh Penguins: If the Stanley Cup Playoffs started today, the back-to-back defending champs would be out of the playoffs. In fact, the Penguins are two points out of last place in the Metropolitan Division. Injuries have riddled Pittsburgh to start the season along with stagnant all-around play. The good news is they're only two points out of a wild card spot.
  • Ottawa Senators: Even after acquiring Matt Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche, the Senators only have 29 points and are at the bottom of the barrel in the Atlantic Division. To make matters worse, their owner is talking about moving the team.
  • Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks are three points out of a wild card spot in the Western Conference. However, they've been an average team whose age is starting to show. The 29th-best goal scoring team in the NHL has Jakob Silfverberg as their top goal scorer, with only nine goals to show for it.
  • Edmonton Oilers: It's not Connor McDavid's fault the Oilers are slagging behind; the phenom has 40 points this season (12 goals, 28 assists). However, the Oilers are lackluster at killing penalties with a penalty kill percentage of 73% (30th in the NHL). There have also been plenty of injuries to Edmonton's defensemen, making it harder for Cam Talbot.
