Brooklyn Nets Season Preview

Once the laughingstock of the NBA (hello, Kevin Garnett trade!), the Brooklyn Nets are like Pokey from Earthbound. They mean business. What should you look for from the Nets in the upcoming NBA season?

• KD and Kyrie Come to New York... for the Nets: The New York Knicks were the talk of the NBA during the spring because of the possibility of them getting Zion, KD, and Kyrie Irving. It turns out that New Orleans wound up with Zion and the other two megastars went to New York... to play in Brooklyn. Kevin Durant will likely not make it back until next season. But it's been a long time coming for the beleaguered franchise, which has been truly competitive since the days of Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson.
  
• New Ownership! Out goes Mikhail Prokhorov as the owner of the Nets. Taking over as the owner of the team is Joseph Tsai, the co-founder of Alibaba. Tsai will take over the remaining 51% of the Nets ownership, which will be set by the end of the month. Could Tsai bring good fortune and a competitive team to Brooklyn?
  
• A Good Bench to Go With the Team: Spencer Dinwiddie has been a scoring boon for the Nets off the bench and adding DeAndre Jordan will give the Nets more size. Also look for players like Taurean Prince (13.5 PPG) and Garrett Temple (7.8 PPG) to make an impact for the Nets.
