Bills' Off-Season Checklist

4/25/2018

The Buffalo Bills somehow managed to find their way into the playoffs for the first time in close to two decades. What can the Bills do to establish themselves as perennial playoff contenders?
  • Get An Established Quarterback (not done): Tyrod Taylor is a favorite among sabremetrics experts of football, but he was let go to the Browns. The Bills haven't had a franchise quarterback in a long while (since the Jim Kelly days, to be exact), so it's imperative that they draft one and develop him into the player they want.
  • Work on the Offensive Line (partially done): With Richie Incognito and Eric Wood retiring, the Bills have to fill some voids up front. They picked up Russell Bodine and Marshall Newhouse for some depth, but they'll need to make some more moves to shore up some stuff.
  • Fix the Secondary (partially done): The Bills fired defensive backs coach Gill Byrd and named John Butler as his replacement. With the Bills allowing 3,688 passing yards (20th in the NFL), the Bills need to work on restricting the pass game and draft some young corners later on.
