Last season was the season from hell for the Boston Celtics. Rifts with Kylie Irving, who has essentially ‘ghosted’ the organization, along with injuries has put a damper on the hopes of winning another NBA title. However, the Kyrie Irving saga isn’t the only slight of bad luck that has hurt the franchise.
The team didn’t get Anthony Davis after the team refused to give up Jayson Tatum in a potential trade. Davis went on to be traded to Boston’s rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. Then, Al Horford opts out of his deal with the Celtics, making him a free agent. Horford is seeking a four-year deal outside of Boston. So what should the Celtics do? Should they blow it up? A lot of questions will be asked regarding the Celtics and their next move. The Celtics do have $48 million freed up, so they should sign quality role players to the mix. Players like George Hill and Danny Green could help the Celtics, given their postseason pedigrees are second to none. In any case, the Celtics have a lot of soul searching to do this summer.
