AL Central Preview

We continue our MLB preview by looking at the AL Central, a team with a rising contender and some old powers falling out of favor. Who'll rule the roost?

• Team to Beat: Cleveland Indians: Going back to the World Series will require Jason Kipnis (.232, .705 OPS, 12 homers, 35 RBIs) to return to form at the plate. Having Michael Brantley and Danny Salazar healthy for the entire season will help the Indians get back to the Fall Classic.
• Team(s) in a Rebuilding Phase: Kansas City Royals/Detroit Tigers: For most of the 2010's, these two teams dominated the roost in the AL Central. Combining for five AL Central titles, two World Series appearances, and one World Series title, these two teams are ushering in a new era. Pieces like Michael Fulmer, Nick Castellanos, and Kelvin Herrera will be popping up in trade rumors in the near future.
  
• Team That Could Surprise People: Chicago White Sox: The White Sox are a young team and they've lost prospect Luis Robert for some significant amount of time. However, with five-tool player Yoan Moncada and other young studs like Lucas Giolto and Dylan Cease, the White Sox have a chance to make some noise in a weak AL Central. If not this year, the Sox can cash in on the loaded 2018-2019 free agent market.
